WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) _ New Jersey Resources Corp. (NJR) on Thursday reported fiscal second-quarter profit of $149.8 million.

The Wall Township, New Jersey-based company said it had net income of $1.55 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.77 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.16 per share.

The energy services holding company posted revenue of $802.2 million in the period.

New Jersey Resources expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.05 to $2.15 per share.

New Jersey Resources shares have climbed 18% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 23% in the last 12 months.
