Speaking at a meeting with the Deputy for Fisheries and Fishing Ports of the Iranian Fisheries Organization, Arjmandzadeh highlighted the vital role of the marine environment in sustaining fishing activities. He stated that protecting marine ecosystems and continuously monitoring the sea’s environmental status are among the most essential requirements for sustainable development in the fishing sector.
Arjmandzadeh stressed the need for synergy among agencies responsible for maritime affairs. He noted that close cooperation between the Ports and Maritime Organization, the Fisheries Organization, environmental agencies, and other related institutions can play an effective role in reducing environmental risks and preserving the sustainability of aquatic reserves.
Referring to the importance of the marine-based economy in Bushehr Province, he pointed out that a significant portion of the employment and livelihood of coastal residents depends on the sea. Therefore, maintaining the health of the sea directly supports the activities of fishermen and those working in the fisheries sector.
Arjmandzadeh expressed hope that by expanding joint cooperation among relevant organizations and implementing targeted environmental programs, the conditions for fishing and fisheries will improve further. This, in turn, will lead to increased aquatic reserves and a higher standard of living for fishermen.
