سال میلادی رو به پایان است و زمان انتخاب بهترین بازی‌های سال در قالب جوایز Golden Joystick Award 2025 فرا رسیده است. رای‌گیری در ۲۱ بخش آغاز شده است و از بهترین روایت داستانی و بازی چندنفره تا بهترین تریلر و مورد انتظارترین بازی را در بر می‌گیرد. یک بخش جدید هم برای بهترین ریمیک / ریمستر اضافه شده است.

بازی نقش‌آفرینی Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 با شش نامزدی از جمله جایزه استودیوی سال، پیشتاز رقابت‌هاست. پس از آن آثاری چون Death Stranding 2: On the Beach و Ghost of Yōtei و Kingdom Come: Deliverance II هر کدام با چهار نامزدی در تعقیب هستند.

بازی‌های مستقل پرطرفداری مثل Hollow Knight: Silksong و Sword of the Sea و Peak هم در چند بخش مختلف حضور دارند.

فرآیند رای‌گیری تا پایان روز ۹ آبان (۳۱ اکتبر) ادامه خواهد داشت. فهرست نهایی نامزدهای جایزه «بازی سال» در ۱۲ آبان (۳ نوامبر) اعلام می‌شود و رای‌گیری برای این بخش همان روز آغاز خواهد شد. مراسم اصلی و معرفی برندگان نهایی در ۲۹ آبان (۲۰ نوامبر) برگزار خواهد شد.
