IRVINE, Calif. (AP) _ Sabra Healthcare REIT Inc. (SBRA) on Wednesday reported a key measure of profitability in its first quarter. The results missed Wall Street expectations.
The Irvine, California-based real estate investment trust said it had funds from operations of $85.5 million, or 39 cents per share, in the period.
The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for funds from operations of 40 cents per share.
Funds from operations is a closely watched measure in the REIT industry. It takes net income and adds back items such as depreciation and amortization.
The company said it had net income of $33.4 million, or 16 cents per share.
The health care real estate investment trust posted revenue of $152.4 million in the period, surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $150.6 million.
For the current quarter ending in July, Sabra expects its per-share funds from operations to range from 37 cents to 38 cents.
The company’s shares have dropped almost 1% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $17.21, an increase of 41% in the last 12 months.
