CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) _ American Water Works (AWK) on Monday reported first-quarter earnings of $133 million.

The Camden, New Jersey-based company said it had profit of 73 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 73 cents per share.

The water utility posted revenue of $888 million in the period.

American Water Works expects full-year earnings to be $4.18 to $4.28 per share.

American Water Works shares have risen 1% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $155.17, a rise of 30% in the last 12 months.
