PASADENA, Calif. (AP) _ Green Dot Corp. (GDOT) on Wednesday reported first-quarter profit of $25.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Pasadena, California-based company said it had profit of 46 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 83 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 93 cents per share.

The bank holding company posted revenue of $393.5 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $379.8 million, beating Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $356.1 million.

Green Dot expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.06 to $2.15 per share, with revenue in the range of $1.27 billion to $1.29 billion.

Green Dot shares have dropped 19% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $45.29, a rise of 56% in the last 12 months.
