MENLO PARK, Calif. (AP) _ Personalis Inc. (PSNL) on Wednesday reported a loss of $12.4 million in its first quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Menlo Park, California-based company said it had a loss of 29 cents.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 37 cents per share.
The provider of contract research and genomic information posted revenue of $20.9 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $20.4 million.
For the current quarter ending in July, Personalis said it expects revenue in the range of $21.3 million.
The company expects full-year revenue of $85 million.
Personalis shares have dropped 43% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $21.04, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
