SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Bloom Energy Corp. (BE) on Wednesday reported a loss of $24.9 million in its first quarter.
On a per-share basis, the San Jose, California-based company said it had a loss of 15 cents. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 7 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 8 cents per share.
The developer of fuel cell systems posted revenue of $194 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $203.3 million.
Bloom Energy expects full-year revenue in the range of $950 million to $1 billion.
Bloom Energy shares have declined 25% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $21.63, nearly tripling in the last 12 months.
