BILLERICA, Mass. (AP) _ Bruker Corp. (BRKR) on Wednesday reported first-quarter net income of $56.7 million.

The Billerica, Massachusetts-based company said it had net income of 37 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 44 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 32 cents per share.

The scientific equipment maker posted revenue of $554.7 million in the period.

Bruker expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.82 to $1.87 per share.

Bruker shares have climbed 27% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 89% in the last 12 months.
