NEW YORK (AP) _ Chimera Investment Corp. (CIM) on Wednesday reported first-quarter net income of $157.6 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The New York-based company said it had profit of 54 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 36 cents per share.
The mortgage investor posted revenue of $243.1 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $135.1 million.
Chimera shares have increased 26% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 69% in the last 12 months.
