CENTREVILLE, Va. (AP) _ Parsons Corp. (PSN) on Wednesday reported first-quarter net income of $9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Centreville, Virginia-based company said it had net income of 9 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 34 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 28 cents per share.

The software and infrastructure services provider posted revenue of $874.7 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $895.6 million.

Parsons expects full-year revenue in the range of $3.85 billion to $4.05 billion.

Parsons shares have increased 20% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 20% in the last 12 months.
