CHESTERBROOK, Pa. (AP) _ AmerisourceBergen Corp. (ABC) on Wednesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $435.3 million.

The Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania-based company said it had net income of $2.10 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $2.53 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.51 per share.

The prescription drug distributor posted revenue of $49.15 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $49.94 billion.

AmerisourceBergen expects full-year earnings in the range of $8.45 to $8.60 per share.

AmerisourceBergen shares have increased 29% since the beginning of the year, while the S&P’s 500 index has risen 11%. The stock has risen 46% in the last 12 months.
