On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had profit of $1.89. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $2.04 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.30 per share.
The high-speed trading company posted revenue of $1.01 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $728 million.
Virtu Financial shares have increased 18% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 23% in the last 12 months.
