DULUTH, Minn. (AP) _ Allete Inc. (ALE) on Thursday reported first-quarter earnings of $51.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the Duluth, Minnesota-based company said it had net income of 99 cents.

The power company owner posted revenue of $339.2 million in the period.

Allete expects full-year earnings to be $3 to $3.30 per share.

Allete shares have risen 13% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 23% in the last 12 months.
