PEMBROKE, Bermuda (AP) _ James River Group Holdings Ltd. (JRVR) on Wednesday reported a loss of $103.5 million in its first quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Pembroke, Bermuda-based company said it had a loss of $3.37. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to $3.54 per share.

The insurance holding company posted revenue of $183 million in the period.

James River Group shares have decreased slightly more than 5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $46.50, an increase of 36% in the last 12 months.
