All eyes on battle of Rome

صاحب‌خبر - In one of the games of the Serie A weekend, Roma host Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in a massive Rome derby on Saturday afternoon. Roma The Giallorossi are clinging on to the last Champions League berth in the Italian top-flight. Paulo Fonseca’s team are currently just three points ahead of Atalanta in fifth-place but trail the third-place visitors by a massive seven points. The home side may have been closer to their city rivals only for two defeats in their last three Serie A outings. However, losses against Torino and Juventus were followed up by a 3-1 win at Genoa in their last outing in the Italian top-flight. The victory was much needed heading into a clash with their in-form rivals. However, Roma’s home form in Serie A could prove an obstacle to maintaining their current top-four. The team from the Italian capital have won just four of their last eight league matches at the Stadio Olimpico, suffering two straight losses in those aforementioned games against the Turin teams Torino and Juventus. Prior to the defeats, the home side had recorded four straight wins on home soil. Lazio The visitors could not head into this local derby in better form. Simone Inzaghi’s team are on a run of 11 straight league wins after a 5-1 home win over Sampdoria in their last league outing. The visitors have quite simply been lethal in front of goal of late, scoring at least twice in 13 of their last matches in the Italian top-flight. A player who has been vital in their prolific form in front of goal this season has been experienced striker Ciro Immobile. The Italian international has scored an incredible 23 times in just 19 games in Serie A this season. The striker’s form has helped Lazio to their current lofty position, just two points behind Inter in second place and six behind perennial champions Juventus at the top of the table. While Lazio are playing at their home stadium, they are designated the visitors in this local skirmish. The visitors have won their last five league matches on their travels 2-1, including winning at Fiorentina and AC Milan. Unsurprisingly, Lazio have been prolific on their travels of late in Serie A, scoring two goals in their last six away games. Lazio are very much the form team heading this clash and we are backing Inzaghi’s side to record a 12th straight win in the Italian top-flight at the expense of their neighbours.
